 CATALIN (BAKELITE) CREATIONS BY LAINS
Dan and Penny Lains are revisiting the family business. LAMACO, The Lains
Manufacturing Company, was started in 1939 and distributed Catalin and Lucite
stock until January 1942 because of WW2. At that time Dan's dad joined the
Marines and remaining Catalin stock was placed in storage.
The Lains goal is to create new designs and approaches to working with the
material. They are committed to identifying their collections in a manner
that does not allow for any confusion with the wonderful work done in the
1930's to 1950's. Jewelry items will be signed, numbered and released in
limited editions.
